Soaring

I’m watching the birds. Pigeons flock to the water fountain. The males fluffing themselves up seem more important and bigger—the females preening and displaying no interest seemingly. And above, the eagles, hawks and larger birds soar higher and higher carried up by the warm thermals of air. It seems as if they don’t need to do anything except spread their wings and allow the heat of the sun to keep them up.

My friend let’s think bigger picture. Let’s not be like the pigeons—dear birds though they be—pecking and fluttering and being panicky when there is a disturbance or sudden noise. My friend let us soar above and beyond the small every day cares of the world. Yes, we get the job done—we do what needs to be done to live a happy, healthy care free day. But when the gossipers, worriers and tormentors start to do their thing—let’s soar up and away to a higher place where things never seem so bad.

About Val Gee

I believe we all want to love and be loved. If we are not in love or being loved, then what are we doing here? I choose to wake up every morning filled with love and so I make it my mantra, "My purpose in life is to be loving." Check out my books published by McGraw-Hill. www.amazon.com.
